"Layers" An Adventure in Colors for Altered Books

These are a few of my samples for the "Layers" An Adventure in Color for Altered Books class, that will be taught at
Absolutely Everything in Topsfield, Massachusetts April 20, 21 & 22
This class was developed as a result of using everything that was laying out on my worktable that day.
Needless to say I was very happy with the colorful results!!!
The spread above, was featured in issue number 2 of Cloth, Paper, Scissors Magazine as a workshop article.

More techniques learned, dyed & distressed pages, using Dorland's Wax, shimmer & sparkle & gel medium fun!!!

On these pages we have encased an autumn leaf and created a hand ripped cutout shown under the tree.

This is one of the techniques also taught, hand ripped and paper layered pockets.

These are all amazing, I particularly like the child in the tree. I have your book and am amazed at the variety of background ideas - now I find more here! You are one talented lady.

It would be a delight to be in one of your classes.

Bernie - after today's class "Burnt and Bound" I am learning to think in layers. I wish I had signed up for class tomorrow also for "Layers" - I'll just have to wait for the tutorial in the next book. It is about 2:00 am and as I expected, I am staying up and trying to finish the 5x7's and the ATC sizes wraps. What fun!
Thanks again, Miriam

Bernie

You make such amazing art! It's so vibrant and beautiful. I'm so glad you stopped by. That was so funny standing in line at CHA last year...I'm sure you thought me a bit of a lunatic.

Yes, I'll be at CHA! I'd love to see you, let me know if you're going.

Best,
Margot

I love the layers of marks, color and textures. The colors are bright and vibrant and seem to glow. Also the journals are very loose and expressive. Wonderful and stunning work.
